WHAT COURSES ARE INCLUDED in the BOOK CLUB?

Since this program is brand new, there are currently two video book-courses available:

Perfect if you're just getting started or need a brush-up. We're working from the best beginner book I've ever found!
Most uke players settle for the same old strummy-strummy-strum-strum — and most uke players sound like, well — most uke players. One of the biggest leaps you can make in your playing prowess is to add finger-style playing into your bag of tricks.

The library is ever-expanding. You’ll have full access to new courses as they come along — and you can put in your suggestion for what we should do next!

IMPORTANT: You’ll need to purchase the physical book if you want to own it. NOT REQUIRED! The video course covers all the content, but lots of folks like to have the book to refer to.

The Deadly Cycle
of Uke Learning

PART I: BOOKS

ARE you like me? I see a new ukulele how-to book and think:

WE UKULELE PLAYERS are funny that way.

We know that the Next Big Success is just one chapter away.

EXCEPT… all too often, it’s not.

It’s sooo easy to get through Chapter 1 of your new Uke Skill book (whatever it is), and then think to yourself, “I’ll get to Chapter 2 — later…”

And “later” becomes:

Later.

AND LATER.

The Deadly Cycle
of Uke Learning

PART II: VIDEOS

ARE you like me? When I *give up* on learning from books, I turn to the wide world of web videos. And I think:

No doubt about it, YouTube is a wonderland of potential knowledge, and you can find almost any “how-to” info you need.

But it’s up to YOU, the ukulele learner, to find the right videos, and then develop your own lesson plan.

Which is sort of like asking a kindergartener to plan dinner for the week. Possibly very tasty; definitely a little messy, and not very nutritious.

***

SO I turn to…

The Deadly Cycle
of Uke Learning

PART III: Classes and Lessons

ARE you like me? SURELY the summit of ukulele learning is with  a dedicated teacher.

Finding a real-world teacher who specializes in ukulele is tricky, although you can probably find guitar teacher willing to “moonlight” on uke.

As a uke teacher myself, I LOVE doing classes and workshops and I do believe it’s one of the best ways to learn.

But think about this:

Most of the time spent in those expensive private lessons is NOT YOU LEARNING. It’s ME listening to you practice!

The huge advantage, of course, is that you can ask questions and get feedback — so you’ll know what you should be practicing (at home, alone, in your room) until next week’s lesson.

The PROBLEM with ALL 3 METHODS?

Is that you’re not using ALL THREE methods!

The secret to getting great on uke is to COMBINE all three into one super-interconnected system.

THE PERFECTED CYCLE:

When we combine all three methods, you can get ALL the plusses and NONE of the minuses — the combo is the fastest, funnest way to learn uke.

And that’s what we call

FAST • FUN • EFFICIENT

Questions and Answers

CLICK HERE to subscribe. — You’ll get log-in details and then you can choose your first book-course. After that, just follow along with the videos, participate in the group for help and encouragement, and, whenever you can, join the weekly live calls for personalized support from Danno

If you’re just get started on uke, choose my highly-recommended beginner book, and learn the essential basics.

If you’re more advanced, choose a more advanced book that tickles your fancy!

Since we’re just getting started, right now our two book-courses are:

  • Ukulele Quickstart (for beginners or anyone needing a refresher)
  • Fingerstyle Quickstart (a great next step for adding new sounds)

Everyone should get to play uke, no matter what. If the pandemic has you minding your pennies, then you can literally choose to pay the price that feels right for you. Just type that number into the price box! That price will subscribe you for one month.

You can also choose a regular subscription which, like a magazine, automatically renews so you will have uninterrupted access to your courses.

Since this special pricing is meant to get us through the pandemic, and since we don’t know how long that will be, at the end of the month, your subscription will end. You can re-subscribe for another month at Pandemic Pricing, if that’s still available, or, if not, at regular pricing.  The goal is to make it a fair transaction for you and for me 🙂

Yes! This means you won’t lose access at the end of the month; your subscription will renew automatically each month so you will have uninterrupted access to your courses.

It’s as easy as clicking one button. Or dropping an email to HQ.

This is a brand new program, so so far there are only two books available. One for beginners and one for beyond-beginners.

The beginner book is Kev’s Quickstart which is the best book I’ve found for getting started.

The other book is Fingerstyle Quickstart, which is perfect for anyone who’s got the basics and is ready to add new techniques and sounds.

I’ll be adding new books often — and you can always recommend one!

Yes. If you want a physical copy of the book, you’ll need to buy it from a music shop or bookstore (online or off).

YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED to buy the physical book — our lessons are complete and stand-alone, but having the book is a huge bonus. It makes practice easier (since you won’t need your computer in front of you), and, most important, we all support the authors by paying for their books.

Nope. It’s completely flexible so you can work on your own schedule. Beware — a lot of people find that once they get going, it’s hard to stop!

Two ways. You’ll be invited to join our private online group, where you’ll be welcomed into the loving arms of fellow uke-lovers who are going through the same program and are there with conversation, encouragement, and advice.

Once a week, you can join in on our live group video calls, where you can ask Danno for specific help with your specific situation, for complete personal feedback.

One of my favorite comments ever:

So who’s this ukulele know-it-all, anyways?

I’m Danno Sullivan and I’m not really a ukulele know-it-all.

I may not even be a ukulele know-it-much.

But I am definitely a ukulele know-it-some, and over many years of teaching 100s of people to play uke, I’ve gotten very opiniated about what make uke learning FAST, EASY, and FUN.

(Hint: that’s what Danno’s Book Club is all about ).
